Lapcevich Continues Strong CARS Tour Season with Double Podium at Hickory

Treyten Lapcevich added another strong CARS Tour weekend to his 2026 season, earning a runner-up finish in the Late Model Stock feature and a third-place result in the Pro Late Model event at Hickory Motor Speedway.

A demanding day at the historic North Carolina short track saw competitors battle the heat throughout the afternoon before rain extended the racing action late into the night. Through the changing conditions, Lapcevich remained a contender in both divisions.

In the Pro Late Model feature, Lapcevich showed strong pace behind the wheel of the Rette Jones Racing Port City Racecars No. 30. The car proved competitive throughout the event, with Lapcevich ultimately bringing it home in third to secure his first podium of the night.

The Late Model Stock feature saw Lapcevich come even closer to victory aboard the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship No. 77 for Chad Bryant Racing.

Lapcevich remained in contention at the front of the field before making his move for the lead with 15 laps remaining. After taking over the top spot, a late caution brought the field back together and set up a restart from the front row.

On the restart, a sway bar arm broke on the No. 77, leaving Lapcevich to manage the mechanical issue through the closing laps. Despite the setback, he continued to battle at the front and crossed the line in second, narrowly missing out on the victory while securing his second podium of the night.

“We had a really fast Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship No. 77 and put ourselves in position to win at the end. Taking the lead with 15 to go and then having the sway bar issue on the final restart was definitely disappointing, but we still came away with a second-place finish and another podium with the No. 30. We’ll keep pushing. I feel like we’re getting closer every week,” said Lapcevich.

The pair of podium finishes capped off a challenging but successful double-duty weekend for Lapcevich, continuing to showcase the speed and consistency of both programs as the 2026 season moves into its final stretch.
